Giving is Believing

Giving, Serving, Faith and Adoption.

I was born in Oklahoma city 1970 mother was a special education teacher and my father was police officer. I grew up as a church kid spending my youth in an earlier version of what a Mega Church was called Metro Church while I had fond memories of those days it's also where my cynical nature grew as the over charismatic church environment taught zeal and passion over Love and understanding.

I moved to Hermosa Beach California 1990 my band For Love Not Lisa was signed to East West Records a division of Atlantic Records. We released two albums Merge and Information Superdriveway , our claim to fame was when our song Slip Slide Melting made it on the movie The Crow and it's double platinum selling soundtrack.

I later started another band on Tooth and Nail records called PULLER and released three more records but my music career ended 2001. After working a few years in various record labels I started what was very new idea at the time an eCommerce company for the music word called I worked in that space for 10 years until we merged and sold our company to another company in town who eventually pushed me out of the company. Where I started GO BIG WIN

But in 2009 my life was radically interrupted with a mission trip to Kenya Africa with Mocha Club and I was forever changed! God straight up open hand bitch slapped me and turned my world upside down. This is when I woke up out of my hazy American dream selfish life and found the heart of Jesus was for us to minister to the Poor. And the verses Mathew 25:36 became my new life mission (

35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,

36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?

38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you?

39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

My wife and I adopted a little girl from Ethiopia and it created in us to be vocal advocates for Adoption. I'm currently writing a book called "find a need and fill it" It addresses the idea of what serving and giving can look like in todays world and a challenge to us to do more. I want to thank you for listening to the GIVING IS BELIEVING podcast as I take on 2016 to address and highlight Giving, Serving, Faith and Adoption.
